90% of rat infestations within properties in Bristol are a direct result of faulty or redundant drains, left neglected and unmapped for years. We use sophisticated cameras to locate and solve rat infestations forever. We are the end of rats inside buildings!
Residential Rat Control
Rats are a resourceful group of pests that range in size from 10cm to over 45cm. Rats live in our homes, our belongings, the fabric of our buildings, and live in our gardens, so it's never been more vital to get rat control that solves problems for good.
If you can't answer one simple question, then you will never be rat or free. That questions is "How Did Rats Get Into Your House?".
The Bristol Rat Company is on a quest - to PERMANENTLY solve and eliminate our customer's rat control problems.
The terrible rat and mouse control system used by the Council and others of Bait-Stink-Flies-Repeat fails people in Bristol, again and again!
90% of all rat problems inside residential properties come from drain faults beneath or around your home. 80% of people inherit a rat problem when they move into a new house. Most pest control companies never mention your drains!
Does that mean 80% of residents were failed by "bait only" rat control in Bristol and decided to move? The facts make you wonder!
What Does Rat Control Cost?
We charge £78.00 for a rodent inspection in Bristol, which we waive if you decide to use us to solve your problem.
Can't Afford A Treatment? Don't worry - we can also explain how to get faster results from DIY methods if you prefer.
Why Is Your Rat Control Reassuringly Expensive?
Think rat extermination and exclusion is expensive? What's the alternative? Moving house - The average cost of moving home in 2019 is between £3000.00 and £9000.00. The cost of rewiring after a rat infestation can easily exceed £3000.00. Remediation of contaminated loft insulation is around £2000.00.
None of these outcomes has eliminated the rats! Either you still have a rat problem, or you've passed it on to someone else!
Groundworks and drain investigations are never cheap, but neither is ongoing and cumulative damage caused by rodents destroying your home each time they visit you from the sewer system!
Can You Guarantee The Rats Will Be Gone Forever?
10-20% of rodent infestations involve a neighbour, and many are uncooperative! Not everyone hates rats, and some residents have no problem with vermin living in their home.
Terrible news if you have a rat phobia because you cannot force someone to fix a problem in their property or improve their cleanliness.
If you occupy a terraced property, semi-detached house or live in a flat, the complexities of getting a neighbour to help is sometimes daunting and impossible to achieve, even if you are paying!
We can advise you how to get the best help from your insurers and others who might help with costs and permissions. Wessex Water is also very helpful if shared drains are affected or implicated.
Work can be guaranteed, but outcomes cannot because they need testing over time. A large proportion of the work requires us to reveal problems caused by decades of neglect.
A good example might be the pipe we discovered in Clifton with 24 inches of concrete over it. Repairs are easy - it's access, groundworks and final remediation where things can get complicated and expensive.
Rat Control Case Study 1
In this example, Council and private pest controllers visited a property on the south coast, dozens of times over thirteen years. During that time, a local drainage company completed a survey of the drains, revealing nothing was wrong!
Utterly frustrated the customer contacted us and asked that we bring to bear the full weight of our resources on the problem as one final attempt to solve the rat crisis in their home. We travelled down with two teams from Bristol. One pest control and the other groundworks and drainage.
Amazingly, in a little under three hours, we had discovered, exposed, resolved and remediated a disused drain branch only 80cm from the back door of the house. So how did a drainage contractor completely miss such an obvious problem, and why did so many other pest professionals never mention drains as a possible entry point? We can only wonder!
Finally, The customer was thrilled and no-longer-needed to sell their home. A classic example of the work we do every day in Bristol that demonstrates how knowledge and experience in such a tight niche of expertise has allowed us to help so many people
Rat Control Case Study 2
A customer in Bristol paid a national company for 20 years to get rid of rats in their cellar - We visited and notified them that a drain repair would solve their problems forever. So why had the other company never mentioned drains - well, with 20 years of contract payments, you might wonder?
When commission based services follow a pattern of control with no deliberate focus on eliminating the root cause (entry points, etc.) of the problem you need to ask - why bother?
One more point to hold in your thoughts, if the council do exactly the same thing, who would question businesses offering the same level of service? It's become so blatant that customers seem surprised when we mention that drains could be the cause because the operatives of private companies and the council often never mentioned that drains might be the cause.
Rat Control Case Study 3
A dental surgery in Bristol asked for a second opinion after a national company failed to get rid of rats in a sterile room!
During our initial inspection, we investigated and discovered the national company had placed a single trap next to an open drain beneath a work counter. They never mentioned the open drain to the dental practice but still wanted to charge £750.00 for another three visits.
We solved their rat problem in one visit.
We get called every year to people, told they've tried everything, only for us to find a perfect solution.
When it needs doing, and it needs doing right, WE ARE THE EXPERTS PEOPLE CALL, and we are very proud of this.
We contracted Simon to rid our area of a large number of rats. Simon's knowledge was amazing and over a period of a month he did exactly what I paid for, including many return visits to double check. Very efficient and effective service.
